About Modular Power Inc.

After working for Ryan Aeronautics in San Diego County through the mid 60's, Robert McNaul wanted to strike out own his own. He tried model R/C gear (SPAR Electronics) but there was too much competition. (hydraulic servos to start)

There seemed to be a market for power supplies though. (Articles of Incorporation) A single 0-30VDC lab supply first. Then a dual. All discreet components! Then came the IC. With requests for more power and multiple voltages, a modular system evolved. Minolta really gave MPI a shove with a million dollar contract for a switching supply.

MPI sold.

MPI revived.

2010: I am Paul McNaul, Roberts son, and I should have never quite MPI to play music.

Since 2000, I've been engineering USB devices and power supplies for local and remote companies via the internet. Now, I want to produce the designs that I have the rights to. (most)
